Event Description
John Legend’s new album, Muse, comes out October 23, and Armadillo Music is one of the independent record stores around the country playing it early, so this listening party in Davis gets the record a few days ahead. Pharrell Williams produced the whole album, and it moves away from Legend’s piano ballads toward gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat and hip-hop, with Pharrell featured on several songs and Clipse on one.
Armadillo hosts listening parties in the shop when a notable release is on the way. This one comes with giveaways from Legend’s label, while they last, and a raffle prize, and The Bootleg, the beer bar inside the store, is open.
