The Tri-Cooperatives, usually called the Tri Co-ops, are a group of student-run cooperative houses on the UC Davis campus that have also become part of the Davis DIY music scene. Residents organize shows outside the houses, creating a casual setting where students and the larger Davis community can gather around music.
Shows often feature several bands on a bill, with local musicians sharing the lineup with artists coming through town. The programming leans toward independent and underground music, reflecting the student-run nature of the space and the people organizing each event.
The Tri Co-ops are home to Agrarian Effort, Davis Student Co-op and Pierce Haus, three houses built around cooperative living and shared decision-making. That same community approach carries over to the music events, which are organized at the houses rather than through a traditional campus performance venue.
