The Ann E. Pitzer Center at UC Davis is home to a 399-seat recital hall that hosts concerts by university ensembles, faculty musicians and visiting performers. Part of the UC Davis Department of Music, the center presents a wide range of music, from classical and chamber works to jazz, contemporary compositions and musical traditions from around the world.
The recital hall was designed specifically for music, with adjustable acoustics, a raised stage, grand pianos and seating arranged around the performance area. The room accommodates solo recitals, small ensembles, choral groups and larger instrumental performances.
The calendar includes student concerts, faculty recitals, the Shinkoskey Noon Concert series and performances by visiting artists. UC Davis ensembles bring additional variety, including big bands, jazz combos, gamelan, mariachi, samba and other groups. The center also hosts new music performances and premieres, reflecting the university’s active composition program.
