Campus Square Dance with Caller Evie Ladin

The UC Davis old time and bluegrass string band plays for a campus square dance, with Evie Ladin calling. Ladin is an Oakland clawhammer banjo player, singer and percussive dancer who leads the Evie Ladin Band and calls community square dances. The caller walks everyone through each figure before the tune starts, so beginners can join from the first set.

This is the UC Davis Bluegrass Old Time Club’s fall square dance, held in the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre, the Mondavi Center’s smaller performance space.
